looks like a cross between an albino kuhli loach & an albino corydoras! only bigger. much. much. bigger. hm. no whiskers either.

Speaking as one who has kept aquarium fish, of course ^_^

Very nice. No refs? Great imagination. My only thought is that the grasses are a little ...word... sharp. (on their own they're awsome) They tend to draw my eye away. You managed a very real sense of depth :clap: and the detail on the fish is excellent.

Cute. I really like the lighting on the fish and through the water.
You might have some luck refering to a couple reference pics though. You could just put fish into a google image search and refer back to a picture or two while your drawing.
Just a suggestion, might help you out along the way.

as it turns out, i did try to find some references, but i couldnt find any in the right pose right away, and got bored of looking, and gave up. perhaps next time

Coooolios. It looks really smooth, though. Scales are kinda...rough. And noticeable. Unless it's some freak breed of skin-fish, in which case, hey, great job.
